Master Planning

A Master Planning Committee was established as part of the outworking of the 2004-2008 Strategic Plan. The Committee will complete its report for presentation to the Board in 2008 prior to engagement of a consultant to document and refince a new WCS Master Plan.

The committee's preliminary work has already borne fruit. The committee identified for the Board a number of more urgent priorities. Following a commitment to commence construction of the multi-purpose hall (opened October 2007), the committee recommended re-organisation of the school site into three distinct precincts for Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. Various models were examined by senior staff following Board endorsement of the plan and the precincts came into being after major refurbishments for the start of the 2007 school year. These plans included the establishment of a sub-school office in each of the three precincts.

Other early recommendations to be adopted were the renovation of the former Music classroom as an extra Science Laboratory (occupied January, 2007) and preparation of plans for expansion of school sporting facilities (planned for a 2009/2010 commencement on construction).
